1. Pre-Alpha: The first version came out and many features that are not available / bugs.

2. Alpha: improved version of the Pre-Alpha version and tested by the tester ato for developers but not tested by end-users.

3. Beta: Version which has escaped the Alpha testing and improvement of the Alpha version. This version can be tested by developers and testers ato also by end-users. Developers sometimes call this version as a preview version, prototype, ato technical preview (TP).

4. RC (Release Candidate): The version will probably be the final version after a lot of repairs and many tested by the testers, developers and end-users.

5. RTM (Release to Manufacturing or Release to Marketing): Version yg become qualified end of a software and ready to be marketed widely to end-users.
